Rock Your Camera: The Workshop

I have been super giddy lately. I have some BIG changes on the horizon (including a custom website re-branding, an awesome giveaway, and a WORKSHOP). For the past few weeks I’ve been tossing around the idea of offering a workshop. Something simple and fun that would help readers like you to dust off that fancy digital camera that’s in your closet and make it work for you! Allowing you guys to rock manual settings, understand composition, and take awesome pictures in everyday life! I’m excited to say that as of yesterday afternoon, I launched my first workshop: Rock Your Camera.

YAY!

The DETAILS:

WHEN: Saturday, May 4th from 5pm-7pm

WHERE: Big Spring Park (We’ll meet on the front steps of Regions Bank. It’s across from the courthouse and has big white columns)

HOW:http://rockyourcameraworkshop.eventbrite.com/

Tickets are can be purchased from the link above and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The workshop seats will be extremely limited so be sure to get your ticket soon!

WHAT IT WILL INCLUDE:

  • 2 hours of hands-on shooting/learning with yours truly!
  • Heavy focus on manual exposure (understanding ISO, shutter speed, and aperture)
  • Composition and how it affects your photos
  • How to utilize natural light (turn off that flash!!)
  • Tips on taking better photos of your kids (or pets/husband/ect..)
  • A mini photo-shoot (you’ll parter up and turn your cameras on each other to practice!)
  • A swag bag of goodies
  • A worksheet covering all the lessons taught, so that you can continue to practice and refine your skills at home
  • PRIZES!!
  • A private facebook group to stay connected and help each other learn after the class is over
  • TONS of question & answer time

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

  • A DSLR camera (a camera that allows you to switch lenses)
  • Kit lens that comes with your camera (or any other lenses you may have!)
  • YOUR CAMERA MANUAL
  • a pen/paper (in case I say something life-altering)
  • 1-3 photos you love (We’ll analyze them and see what you can do to create the magic)
  • A will to LEARN!!
